FOURTH OF JULY INFORMATION
Vintage Heights will be hosting a neighborhood parade this year at 10 AM. We are currently fine tuning the route, but anticipate that we will go through all quadrants in the neighborhood. This will be different from the kid's bike parade that we have had in years past. We invite those with classic cars, motorcycles, golf carts, and other fun vehicles to participate. Bikes and walking would not be a part of this parade due to the length (several miles), heat, and need for social distancing. We also encourage neighborhood business owners to enter your work trucks, or decorate trailers or cars with your business names and contact information to advertise in these challenging times. We would discourage throwing candy and objects from the parade vehicles. More parade info will be coming out soon along with the route. If you think you might want to be in the parade then complete the form below.
This new neighborhood parade will replace the carnival at Mendoza Park and the kid's bike parade for this year. After attempting to plan for our usual festivities we encountered challenges that made our normal events impossible. We are not able to get a park permit for Mendoza Park, pavilions are not available for renting, and the playground is closed and sectioned off. We also have concerns about maintaining social distances while having kids get faces painted, climb on bounce houses, play community games, share prizes and consume food that is placed in the open at such an event. We are continuing to plan exciting neighborhood events for the future.
