Ash Tree Replacement Information
Vintage Heights takes considerable pride in our neighborhood landscaping and we are known across Lincoln as a beautiful and well maintained community. The Lincoln Community Forestry Program has reached out to us after repeated concerns from home owners in Vintage Heights about ash tree replacement. The following information is what they have provided us and we are sharing it with you. This is the final resolution to this concern. Additional information can be found at:

After researching the files on the Vintage Heights project, it looks as if the vast majority of the newer dead trees have been replaced once already. The warranty period for the first planting is expired, so there won’t be any free replants and the replants are not eligible for another replacement.
The Lincoln Community Forestry Program proposes that they will remove the dead trees and provide the homeowner with a voucher for a new tree. The voucher is basically a coupon toward the purchase of a new tree at a participating nursery. There are around 14 local nurseries that would accept the vouchers. The voucher is good for 1 year. If you decide you do not want to use it, you do not have to. There is no requirement to use the same type of tree that is dead.
The Lincoln Community Forestry Program can get started on removing the dead trees without a phone call, and a voucher will be provided when a dead tree is removed.
We understand that this may not please everyone, but know that you are welcome to join the VH landscaping committee if you want to make the neighborhood a better place.
